Bondi Express!

Sometimes we get so enthusiastic about a place that our Vista destination guides end up being close to 100 pages! We just can’t help ourselves…

We also know that sometimes you need travel tips and fast. So in the lead up to our Bondi Beach guide going live next week – here is some bite sized information to snack on, brought to you by Amex ‘Shop Small’.

Speaking of snacks, let’s start with eats! Here is our favourite way to spend a day in this great little cosmopolitan hub by the sea.

Start the day right at Porch and Parlour, which serves a great fresh breakfast and excellent coffee.

We also love Preach Café, for the most Insta-worthy brekky you’ll ever see! For lunch and dinner, Drake Eatery is a go-to fave for seasonal modern Australian dishes. We also love Raw Bar for the freshest sushi and sashimi.

Moving up to the Bondi Road strip, you have Peppe’s – a newly opened all vegan pasta and wine bar. But get there early as it fills up quickly. And if you’re after a sunset cocktail you can’t go past Icebergs dining room. The balcony at Ravesis, overlooking the ocean, is another great pick!

Enjoy the iconic Icebergs ocean pool for an early morning swim. Did you know there is also a sauna which takes in a great view of the beach? Things can get a little crowded though so pick your time wisely. They also host yoga by the pool on most days.

Gould St is Bondi’s shopping precinct. Here you’ll find great fashion retailers like Lucy FolkJac and Jack and Tutuzy.

One of our favourite things to do when we arrive is stretch the legs on the Bondi to Bronte walk. Take in the beautiful vista as it stretches along the headland through the beach coves of Tamarama and out towards Coogee Beach. The track isn’t overly pram friendly (in parts) and much more suited to a baby carrier if you have little ones.

The pink palace on the beach, the iconic Ravesis Hotel.
